Professor Alo Ritsing, Head Conductor and Music Director Alo Ritsing (Nov 4, 1936), received his musical education at Tartu Music School and Tallinn State Conservatoire as an extra-mural student of choir conducting under professor Gustav Ernesaks. His first public perfomance was in elementary school as a member of a boys choir in the opera “Carmen". After graduating from secondary school in 1955, he became a student of bibliography at the University of Tartu while being an active singer in Tartu Academic Male Choir.Since that period we can observe his constantly growing interest in choir music and conducting.
By now he has become one of the most productive composers of various music for choirs. Prof. A. Ritsing, an active participant in professional music organisations, is respected by his colleagues for high choral standards, and has served as a choral clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor in Estonia and abroad.
